It's that time of year again - Freshers' Week will be upon us soon! We wouldn't be good MoneySavers if we didn't have some good tips on making the most of all the freebies!

My top tip would be to keep an eye out for all that free stationary, you go through no end of it at uni and it can be really expensive. I stocked up on free pens and never had to buy anything during my entire time at uni!

What are your tips on really getting the most out of Freshers' Week? Tell us below! :)

  • With so many things going on each night, it is tempting to go out each night - so budget. Take your evening budget out with you and leave any other monies at home.

And condoms, which (in true MSE fashion) you can get for free from the family planning clinic).

Well, unless it's changed much in the last 10-12 years I'd say stock up on condoms & have fun, it's the last party of the summer before the hard work starts!

You're too late for some places, Aberdeen fresher's week has passed.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Here's a moneysaving tip for any parents who are bringing their offspring to Lincoln Uni:

You can save a fortune on car parking charges by just dumping your vehicle on double yellow lines, in disabled spaces or on pavements within 150 yards of every student accomodation block in the city, then leaving it there for hours while you say goodbye to your little darlings.

Say yes to every invitation! Even if you don't feel like going out/taking part, do it anyway - it's only for one week and you just never know, you might actually enjoy it! Freshers week is the absolute best time to get to know your new flatmates/neighbours, so don't be shy, just get involved with everything.
